They Notice You Now

Walk into a room. Someone looks up.
Stay quiet too long. Someone checks on you.
Let the fire die. Someone says something about it.

The NPCs used to wait for you to speak first. Every time. They'd stand there, politely existing, until you drove the conversation.

That's over. The cabin feels lived in now.

What changed

When you move between rooms, you get prose now - not a UI label. The space, the cold bleeding through the walls, who's already there. It reads like a book.

Room narration on movement

Room narration flows into the conversation like prose.

NPC writing quality took a significant leap. We tested nine different AI models this week - over 240 test calls - and landed on a setup where normal conversation is sharper and more grounded, while intimate moments have a dedicated model that actually writes well instead of sanitising everything.

Two characters got full voice rewrites. Cade was the biggest change - he used to deflect every question you asked. Now he answers practical things honestly and only guards the parts of himself that matter.

Choose how you play

Difficulty got reworked from the ground up. Four tiers, each one changes how the scenario actually plays.

Difficulty selection

Cozy - hunger and cold are just atmosphere. Pure story.
Easy - supplies are generous. You can relax.
Normal - the pantry holds for three days if you're sensible.
Hard - rations are tight. The firewood won't last. You'll need to make real choices about what you prioritise.

Pick your companion

The old "include AI companion" checkbox is gone. Now you browse actual characters - see their personality, search by name, pick someone who fits the story you want to tell.

Companion picker

Browse, search, choose. Or go alone.

What's coming

A second world is in design. Different season. Different stakes. A whole village instead of a cabin. More characters with real histories and real blind spots.

The roster is growing. Eight new faces this week alone - each one designed to feel like someone you'd actually want to know. Or avoid. Or fall for.

Launch is getting close. If you want to be there when it opens -

The cabin is warm. Someone left the fire going for you.

Is this AI or smth 💔

oh nvm it is 😭

Sorry, yes, I've used AI to help me code it as I'm not a coder. I can add that info to the page description as a disclaimer. I've tagged it as well.

I js didn’t see it lmao

That's okay! I added it to the bottom of my pages now to make it a bit easier to tell.
